Memorial School - Grades 3 and 4

Grade Three students continue to explore elements and principles of design. Some of the art projects are related to content-area curricula such as the first Thanksgiving and class trip to Plimoth Plantation. Other projects explore the life and work of other artists such as M. C. Escher. Many projects are made from direct observation, memory, and imagination. With all the work, a variety of materials and media are used.Grade 4
The highlight of the Grade Four art curriculum is the design and painting of the tiles. When glazed and fired in the kiln, these tiles are set in the walls around the school.
